Kathy Braaten’s HIM career started in 2002 as a coding specialist in Southern Ontario and subsequently Saskatchewan. In 2011 she had the opportunity to move to a supervisory role in health information management (HIM), which evolved into a management role. Kathy’s current position is director of program standards and development for the privacy and health information management portfolio at Saskatchewan Health Authority. She is fortunate to have the opportunity to work with colleagues in privacy and HIM across the province of Saskatchewan and serves on a number of national committees.
